a GREAT gift!

So my parents just got a treadmill a couple months ago. It is a REALLY nice one, and they recieved it from my uncle who had it. He said it just stopped working and didn't want to take the time to fix it so he gave it to my parents. Well, come to find out the part was only like $100, so I figured they got a good deal! i talked to my parents and my dad has gotten in the habit of running on it most everyday, which is really good, he says he's already feeling much better and losting weight! I'm glad they got a treadmill!

Sandbox dreams

So as Emry gets older, we are wanting a house more and more. I feel bad that we live in an apartment and he doesn't get to run in the backyard or have a garage to get his toys out of, or just a play room in general. it will probably get more frustrating when he starts running around, there's only so many places you can go in a cube! haha It'll be nice to someday go shopping and look at all the swing sets, and put one in our backyard! the advantage Emry does have now is, with the sand volleyball courts out back, he has the world's biggest sand box- now won't he be the envy of all the kids, haha.

Spring Break

After a long day in the city, we came home and had birthday cake that Diana made for Laura (it was her birthday, and she's down here visiting us for Spring break) we turned on the tv and watched the last part of the new Bachelor. One of the commercials that came on was about weight loss pills. And then Laura was telling me that her friend used that certian kind on the commercial, and that she was having great results. I don't know anyone that has used weight loss pills, but I know a lot of people do.

Coolest gift ever!

Wow, that is all I have to say! I am not very easy to shop for since there aren't very many things that I really want bad enough to ask for them. Now that I am having to dress more professional to work, it would be nice to have a new watch. I don't need anything too fancy, but I did see this Rolex watch in the mall today that was AWESOME! I would love to get it to wear with my nicer work clothes. There are actually some pretty reasonable deals on them! I guess I can keep dreaming, right?

Decorating our apartment

When decorating our new apartment, we went all out! We got new curtains, carpet and even furniture. The other accent we used, was decorative hardware. We looked at a lot of different stores and found that Baldwin products were the best! We think they will add a lot ot our apartment and can't wait to place our order. Our apartment is going to be looking really nice!

Cerebral Palsy Therapy

I have a lot of friends who are therapists of some sort or another. One very popular field is physical therapy, which many of my friends have entered. I recently heard about cerebral palsy therapy and was amazed, as I had never heard about it. It is great to see that this is offered! You should really check into it!

Great Benefits

One thing about working for the state is that you get pretty good health insurance. With all the politics that go on in regards to this issue, it is nice to know that we have very good individual health insurance through the state. It is also fairly cheap to add children onto this plan which is great now that we have Emry and will probably have more children in the near future.

New TV

So we're looking at buying a new tv because our old one, which wasn't so old, broke. There's some really nice tvs for really good prices now, but we're always scared to buy one, thinking that there's just a better price around the corner. The one we looked at the other day was HD and we found out that if we got it we'd have to buy one of those HDMI splitters to make it work! HD makes the picture so perfect. Our last tv was HD and it really came in handy when watching movies, everything was so lifelike.

Baby Shower

Before Emry was born we were blessed with a couple of baby showers. It was a blessing that so many people gave so many baby gifts. As I was going through his clothes today picking out what doesn't fit and what he's growing into, I realize a good portion of all his clothes were given as gifts. It is so nice to have help with clothing him like that, because clothes are expensive. It was also nice to know what sex he was before he was born becuase we could keep our eye out for the big sales around. One thing we didn't get at our showers was that tray thing that attaches to his Bumbo, now that he can sit in it, it'd be nice to have that tray that attaches to it so I can set toys on it- I'll have to go hunt one down.

Finding his voice

So Emry found his voice last week, and won't be quite now, haha...:O) He's continually squawking like a bird (or at least that's what I think it sounds like)....we just won't tell him that he really isn't saying anything :o) It's so cute, because it really cements his personality. He'll get your attention, to pay attention to him through his squawking, he'll tell you he's happy, or anxious, etc...it's cute :o) He was just silent one day and then the next he's sqawking non stop, except when he's out and about- when he's out and about he's a bump on a log, as we like to explain it. No one believes us that he's Mr. Personality sometimes because he just gapes at everything with his mouth open when we're out, staring at everything, no smiling no sqawking, no blinking, and maybe he doesn't even breath, haha, he just STARES you down, and is sooooo interested in who you are that he forgets about him....haha. I love him.

SNOW

So ironically enough, it snowed big time here in Texas. It was pretty gloomy this morning, then around midday it just started raining, and everything was icey and snowy and some parts just north of us got 9 inches! In Texas! Yesterday it was like mid 60's then today it's like the arctic- weird. I'm not too fond of the changing temps, cause you turn on your air then your freezing so you turn on your heat, and back and forth, haha. Everything was closed or got out early today, all schools and colleges, I wonder what tomorrow is going to be like?

Cell Phone Madness!

So we've moved into our new apartment, and we love it, nothing to complain about other than the stinkin cell phone signal, we can't get a signal anywhere, we have to sit right up to the window when we talk on it, and even then we get the "dropped call" message all the time. It's really a pain because you use your cell phone for all calls now, and because all our family lives in another state, we're always talking to them on it. We first thought it was the phone, but we got another one and it's just as bad. So we need to do something to make our signal better or try another phone. I've heard of things like cell phone signal boosters, wonder if they work?

Sitting at work....

Although most of my work involves meetings, and jumping from building to building, I do have a lot of work that consists as general "office work" in front of my computer. I think it's starting to get to me, because of back hurts so much lately. I don't sit right in my chair, and my wife has always said I need some sort of posture corrector. I know it doesn't help that I always tuck my foot under my seat, which off balances everything. And I've noticed even wearing a wallet in my back pocket throws my back off to...funny cause you wouldn't think something like that would. I'm sure just having good posture would help a lot, but it's hard to remember that.

Addicted to TV

One of my favorite shows on tv is called intervention. It is about an individual who's addicted to something, usually alcohol or drugs, and they're family wants help for them. So they sit down and have an intervention, and the family members take turns telling them how much they love them and want help for them. At the end their faced with a decision, wether to go to drug treatment or not. I think intervention is a good way for famillies to reach out to their loved ones who are "lost" and lets them know how much they mean to their family and friends. I really like it when they choose treatment, cause you know they have a chance at life again.

Christmas!

Before we went back to Iowa for Christmas we were searching all around for some cheap flights. There was some really good deals found, but we decided since Emry was born late, he was even that much younger and didn't want to take him on a plane at such a young age. So we decided to drive, which was nice for that time because you don't realize how much extra stuff you need to bring along once you have a baby, it's crazy. So it was nice to tote along everything in the car. The trip seemed to go fast, can't wait til next year, who knows how Emry will be then maybe we'll be looking to fly then!
