Famlies of trapped miners MAD about rescue efforts

This is a very tough situation for everyone involved, and it is hard for me to see why these families are taking it out on the mine owner. I understand that they are sad and want to keep trying, but they aren't thinking about the rescue crews at all. Not only has it been 14 days since they were trapped, but their has been 3 rescue workers killed and others injured in trying to save them.

At some point, when it is too dangerous, the search must stop. I know I am going to catch some heat for saying this and the comments will likely come flooding in, but I am not saying this to be insensitive. I feel for the families of the miners, but I also feel for the families of the rescue workers who lost their loved ones, too. If the rescue attempts weren't getting so dangerous, they would still be looking... but don't say they are "giving up"!

You don't have any relatives trapped in that mine do you? Well, I do. My cousin, Don Erickson, wasn't even supposed to be mining on August 6. He was there to help out and now they are saying that we may never see him again and will never get closure from this great tragedy. You need to put yourself in our shoes. Don is a husband, a Father, a Grandfather and a son! ALL of his family needs closure and unless you are personally involved in this, cannot understand why the families would be getting upset with mine officials. That mine wasn't safe to work in to begin with. However, Mr. Murray is so worried, just like most Americans, about the all might dollar. He had to continue putting peoples lives at risk so that he could get his precious coal. AFTER they get my cousin and his 5 friends out of that mine, I personally hope they shut Murray down forever!

No, I don't have a relative down there and I am sure that you are right about Murray wanting the money. I was simply pointing out that at some point they can not keep sending rescue people down there to search, as more lives will be lost. If it were safer, I would say keep searching until they find them, but it is hard for me to say that since 3 lives were lost in the search and more could lose theirs by continuing.

I don't want you to think I am trying to disrespect those who were trapped because my wife and I have been praying for them daily. I just hate to see even more lives put in danger, especially after this last incident
