After 11 years, Dundalk mother,Brenda Wahaidy, is reunited with Kidnapped son, Adam Wahaidy. WBALTV is reporting.

"After 11 Years, Mother Reunites With Kidnapped Son

BALTIMORE -- A decade-long nightmare has finally come to an end for a Dundalk mother and her family.

Eleven years ago, Brenda Wahaidy's then-5-year-old son, Adam, was kidnapped by his father and taken to Egypt.

On Wednesday, Adam, who is now 16, returned to the United States and reunited with his family. WBAL TV 11 News reporter Lowell Melzer was at Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., for the reunion.


Melzer said Adam doesn't have any memory of his mother and speaks very little English.

Brenda Wahaidy said she has been waiting to reunite with her son for more than a decade.

"Everything has been very hard for me, and I'm sure for him, as well," she said.

Melzer said she could hardly contain herself at the airport as she waited for Adam.

"I'm hoping I'm still standing......"
