Politics!

I used to be to involved with politics. When I do, I just end up frustrated all the time. Instead of getting overly involved, I just turn my focus onto Christ. If more people did that, we would have so many problems! Instead, we have debates over gun laws (whether to have restrictions, who is going to run out and get a rifle scope and rifle that shouldn't, etc.). I just find that I am happier, a better person, father, husband, and friend if I am not involved with all the debate.

Health Kick

Well, I am beginning to think about my health again, now that everyone in my office is on a health kick! That means no junk food, no cigars samplers, no sitting on my rear end all evening! It does mean eating better, trying to be more active, getting outside, and working out! I don't want to be the only one in the office getting soft while the rest get in shape! Bring it on!

How neat!!!!

We decided that it would be a good idea to start putting together photo albums. now that we all have digital cameras and take a million photos, it is hard to do the old fashioned way of printing them all out and putting them into an album. We decided to do it through a site where we could fit many on a page and make it look really cute. We are going to try to do 2 of them for each year (volume 1 and volume 2), so we can have memories from each year. We will have the year on them and put them together by month, so we will have photos from every month since our kids were born. The first one turned out soooo good. I can't wait to look back at them all when we are 50 and the kids are out of the house. Will always be great memories!

Still debating

It is always a debate whether to continue trying to work out or use quick weight loss pills. I am not sure which is better and there is so much information for both sides. The best option is probably to use the pills and work out regularly! It is so much easier to take pills than to motivate yourself to work out though. There doesn't usually seem to be a quick fix for anything, so I suppose I need to find someone to hold me accountable and start working out more!

Pregnant with Emry

I remember when we were pregnant with our first child. We did everything to make sure we ate the right things, got enough rest, and took the right vitamins. Now there is prenatal vitamin reviews to help you find out which are the best for you! What a neat concept and something we would have definitely used when pregnant. We found all the information we needed, but it was not easy and took a lot of digging around. In the long run we did learn a lot though and loved the entire pregnancy and birth experience!

Exercise, not pills

I am thinking that Exercise, not pills, is the way to go in order for me to lose a few pounds. fat burning exercises are all over the place and easy to look into, and I know I am in need of them because my son has repeatedly asked me when I am going to have a baby. He even asked me if I am going to have a boy or a girl. He says he wants a baby sister. I guess it is true the from a babes mouth, truth speaks. Ouch

Remembering the old days

A buddy and I were just thinking back to when we were growing up and the cool thing was to have traffic signs hanging in our rooms. I don't know if it is still a fad today, but I remember having speed limit signs, exit signs, and many others hanging in my room. I always felt so cool having them hanging in my room. I even remember bringing one to college and all the guys thinking it was cool. I feel so old when thinking about to high school, lol!

Porch Light

Our Porch light is so random. Sometimes it turns on, sometimes it doesn't. You can be right in front of it and it won't turn on, but then other times we aren't even outside and it turns on. There are a lot of outdoor lighting options and I plan to look into them when it gets a bit warmer. I just can't figure the thing out. Maybe it's just shot and needs replaced. Hopefully we can find something affordable.

New Dining Room

One of the things we have loved the most about our new house is that we have a real dining room for the first time since being married! We have a lot of our own furniture already and have looked at modern extendable dining tables to add to the room. It looks so nice with the crown molding, paneling, and new paint. I can't believe it is the same room now that we have the original wood floors done! It looks great!

Super Bowl....

Well, I'm disappointing by the super bowl this year! Every year my Vikings don't make it, it is disappointing, but more so this year since the dreadful Packers made it!!! I will definitely be going for the Steelers!!! I can only imagine how many people are out getting football gifts for all those people they know who's team made it this far! It will be tough to watch, but what can ya do?

GO PANTHERS!

I have recently won TWO prizes on the radio! I haven't ever made it on the radio, let alone WON something. So, this week has been pretty cool! I won free tickets to a Panthers basketball game and then won a free pizza last night! All by just knowing my Panther facts! I love the radio show, on press row, and they offer some great prizes. Not to mention, we LOVE pizza and basketball, so it has been a lot of fun to get home and share with my wife the exciting news! :)

You guessed it!

Weight loss was the topic of another discussion at work! No one seems to have anything that has worked for them and most of the options aren't good for you. Someone mentioned some weight loss pills that work for once and everyone was listening. They said they had found some that worked for them, so we were all taking notes. The only problem is that we seem to talk more about getting in shape than actually trying to get into shape. So, now the hurdle is taking the information we have and making it happen!

More weight loss talk!

Again, today we were standing around the office talking about weight loss. Talking about new years resolutions and how we never stick to them. How we all start diets and a few months later we are some how off of them. What we need are Rapid weight loss pills instead of having to work out every day, eat better every day, and not see any results for months! Our society is more interested in NOW and we aren't any different.

Oh weight loss!

How I hate to think about you! Just today some of my co-workers and I were talking about how we could lose weight and remembering the days when we didn't have to worry about it! Now we talk about running, lifting weights, belly fat burners, and whatever other options are out there to help us lose weight! I can't believe I am finally at this age. Even my son asked me if I am pregnant the other day. sigh... Life goes on :)

I Am a Die Hard NBA Fan

Guest post of the week by Nestor Nielsen

My boyfriend and I have been going to Lakers' games for about three to four years now. Every time a game comes up, we are packing our suitcases and set our home alarm systems before going to NBA games. We buy a round ticket to California and we have so much fun that we don't want to come home sometimes. I never thought I would be this much of a die-hard fan for a basketball team, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We have even thought about moving up to California so that we can be closer to our team. But right now, I am just excited to be going to a game again, and I can't wait to wear my Lakers jersey. I bought a Lakers basketball jersey a few months ago offline and I am so excited to wear it for all to see. And you would not imagine all the cool Lakers stuff we have in our house. I am buying more when we go to another Lakers game again.

Smokeless Cigs?

I recently saw smokeless cigarettes. Just when I think I've seen it all. I don't know a lot about them but know they use clove vapor cartridges and don't have real smoke. I am not sure if they use real tobacco or not. Whether they do or not, what is the appeal or need for someone to use vapor? Do they have a need to see "smoke" come from their mouth? Maybe it is a psychological thing? Either way, very interesting!

More Toys!

Christmas came and the boys got more toys... I think I love playing with them as much as they do!!! Well, along with toys comes the need for makita batteries. We go through batteries like it is our job and most toys suck the life out of them so fast. It was very nice that my mom bought us each a huge thing of batteries so we would have them when needed!

Back to work

After a nice Christmas break, it was weird to come back to work. I LOVE my job but it was hard to leave my family after being with them 24/7 the past 2 weeks. I am thankful that I enjoy my job, which makes it easier to have to work, but there is nothing like spending all day with your wife and kids! They are my everything!!!! I LOVE YOU!

Israel

I feel bad for the little guy! For some reason he can't eat peaches. If he does, he doesn't sleep at all!!! He is uncomfortable and just tosses and crys all night. We got no sleep last night and don't plan to make him eat peaches anytime soon!!!! Does anyone know why peaches could cause problems with kids?

Retail retail retail...

How I don't miss you at all! This past weekend we had a nice run-in with an employee at Wall Mart. Actually run-ins with 3 different employees at THREE different Wall Marts. They were not helpful and actually quite rude. However, I will say that I would have a hard time being happy if my main job was to deal with unhappy customers all day. I do not envy people in sales jobs and try not to be too hard on them.

Oh puberty!

I know this sounds like a weird topic, but I am so thankful for having a fairly easy puberty in terms of ZITS! I really didn't have major problems and don't have any scaring, like others I know. I feel bad for people who had issues and are now dealing with acne scar creams and other forms of treatment for something they couldn't control during those great middle and highschool years. It is nice there are companies that make medications that can help though!!!

Insurance

We recently found out that Emry needs some dental work done on his teeth. The bad part is that I am unable to add him to my insurance until August, 2011! I don't know the cost, but doubt we can pay for it! Too bad it doest just fall under our blue cross blue sheild health insurance :). Or maybe under Blue Cross short term insurance. That would be nice. I don't know if we can wait until August to get his teeth worked on. Any suggestions?

In need of money!

So, we found out our car needs some help! Thankfully, we just got a new car so we aren't totally carless, lol. But, the cost to fix it is going to be crazy expensive!! I guess we will have to look into cash advances, a new car, etc. Not sure what we will do yet, but we are so thankful to have recently gotten a new car and for those that helped us get it! Thank you so much for being there for us! We greatly appreciate it!

Good night sleep

We watched "Brothers" last night. Actually, we still have the last bit to watch, but watched long enough to see the main character come back from being imprisoned during war. When he got home, he was totally different. When he sat on his bed mattress, he just staired into space since he had been stuck in a hole for months, with no bed or food or water. Very hard to watch as I am sure it is pretty realistic! Sad movie!

Meineke Car Care Bowl Clemson Versus South Florida

Written by Sonny Quinn

Clemson will be taking on South Florida in the upcoming Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte North Carolina and I will be there to watch the game. I purchased my tickets weeks ago and I have finally decided to take my Dad with me to the game. He is a huge Clemson fan and I know that he will really enjoy watching his Clemson Tigers play. I hope to give him the tickets as a Christmas present so please do not tell him!

I have almost everything done before my trip begins. I bought an App for my iPhone that reminds me to set the house alarm from Home security before I leave for my trip.

The Clemson Tigers have had an inconsistent season on offense. Kyle Parker has not been as good this year as he was last year and his inconsistency coupled with a whole new receiving corp has amounted to a very shaky offensive front. Out defense however, has been unstoppable. Led by Da'Quan Bowers, the Clemson defense has held 7 teams to one touchdown or less. If our offense could have been a little better this year we could be playing for the national championship!

South Florida also has a really good defense so it should be a defensive battle to see who can put the most points on the board. Clemson should come out the victor though and I will be really excited to take my Dad with me to this game.
