I heard on the news the other day that the top floor of a major hotel in Vegas was on fire. It sounded like no one was injured and everything was under control. Those hotels out there are awesome! Josh and his family went out there years ago and stayed at the MGM Las Vegas Hotel. He said it was huge and beautiful. We would like to travel out there again sometime.
WOW! I can't believe that Emry is going on three month old already. Josh's mom said that at around three months old everything seems to get easier. Emry has changed so much already. He sleeps better, loves to entertain himself and loves the sound of his voice. It's so awesome to watch him grow and change.
So we're currently in an apartment now and have been since we got married, but are really looking forward to buying a house someday soon, ecspecially now that we have Emry. Last night we were sitting down going over the costs of a house and can't wait for that day when we can go around with a real estate agent and look at houses! We have some friends who are now looking for a house and I told them how fun that would be! I just hold on to hope that someday we will have a front and back yard, and not have to continue to go through fire alarms in the middle of the night :o)
Well, Josh has completed his first quarter of his master's program and is now starting his 2nd quarter. it will not be as easy this quarter since the classes seem to be a lot more indepth and require even more research. He will do very well though, as always, and he has all kinds of people praying for him... including myself:)

I can't believe he is already over 10 weeks old. It has been amazing to see him grow up right before our eyes. he is now over 13 lbs and in the 90th percentile for both length and weight! He still has all the hair he was born with which is kind of cool, especially when most people told us he would lose it within a few weeks of being born. Our lives have changed a lot, but it is SO worth it. We love spending every minute with him and he has definitely made our lives even better!

We take a lot of pictures of our family, especially since Emry was born. Most of the pictures get put on the web so the rest of the family can see them. It is so easy to send the link to family and have them see how much Emry has grown. He will be three months old soon. He is very active and has a great personality. His cousin, Kaelyn, is growing fast too. It will be nice for them to get together again.
My dad is a fanatic when it comes to golfing and everything there is to do with golfing. If he could, I think he would live right on the golf course. It is a wonderful sport and a great thing to know how to do, especially in your retirement years. I saw this awesome website that has some nice looking Adidas golf attire. I think it is so sad all to the people who are struggling today. You hear it in the news all of the time. Even the rich and famous are having issues with drugs and alcohol. They are in drug treatment centers trying to straighten out their lives. It's a blessing that we have these kinds of places available to those who are in need.
We are having another beautiful day. The northern part of the country, however,is receiving less than desirable weather. It has been snowing all day in the northern part of Iowa according to the news. That part of the state hasn't gotten much snow this year until now. Josh's parents live up there and have had pretty good weather so far this year. I am sure they are out shoveling while we are enjoying to warmth at home.
Since Josh and I have been married we have learned a lot about life. There are so many areas that we had not yet experienced. We purchases a new car this past year and walking through the steps of shopping for the vehicle, dealing with the bank and then the courthouse and all that needs to be done there, was a good learning experience for us. Now we have begun to talk about buying our first home one day. I know there are many things to do when purchasing a home, for example mortgage life insurance, is that something we may have to also consider? Possibly. I guess we'll learn as we go.
Josh's family has an old pocket watch that belonged to his grandpa or maybe it was his great grandpa. It is a beautiful gold watch that is now displayed under glass in his parents home. There are two of them that will be passed down to the sons. His brother has always been fascinated by pocket watches and Josh remembers him getting a new one for one of his birthdays. They are a neat accessory.
Josh's parents are going on a cruise in the near future. They have been on one before and are really looking forward to this one. There is a group going with them that they know and I am sure they will have fun. Zoe, their dog, will be staying with family. She has never had to stay in a kennel, which is nice. I don't know if she would like the kennel very much. I think this time of year would be a great time to go on a cruise.
I remember growing up smelling the coffee brewing in the mornings. Both my mom and dad enjoy drinking coffee some. We went through some coffee makers back then. I'm not really sure what they use now, but I know that I too have grown to enjoy drinking some good hot coffee now and again. I love these quaint coffee shops that have popped up all over now. So many flavors, so little time.
It is hard to believe that it is 2008. I know that some people are probably having trouble not writing 2007 on checks, letters, etc. Where did 2007 go? We have had a lot go on in our family in the past year. We have been very busy with just having Emry in November. What a blessing he is. It is so much fun to watch him. He has grown so much already. I am sure this year will go by quickly too and soon we will be wondering where 2008 went.
Recently Josh’s parents saw their three children begin and finish their college education. It is a goal that they have always dreamed their children would accomplish. Today it has become more of a hardship to attend a college. As they watched the costs rise with each year of attendance, they knew that they must seek our some financial assistance. You have heard the saying that time flies right? Since Emry was born on November 13th, I think that saying is very true. I can hardly believe where the time has gone. Emry has changed our lives and he has changed so much in the short time he has been with us. He is such a blessing.
Josh has his own office at work. They may be looking at some new office furniture some time. With him back in school, we have thought about some furnishings also. WOW! Can't believe how quickly the time has gone. We went back home to the northern country for a couple of weeks and enjoyed family. Emry got to meet many friends and family for the first time. We were very busy traveling and seeing as many as we could and it was sure fun. We had a very nice Christmas with everyone and enjoyed seeing the babies together. My sister has a new baby, she is 4 1/2 months old now and Josh's sister has a new baby, she is about Emry's age. We took a lot of pictures and will have to post some in the future. For now, we are ready to just drop and relax a bit.
